SLAPHAPPY PAINTING - Plaster Owl Set of 3, Wall Decor

$ 10.00

Definition of SLAPHAPPY: 1. having or showing freedom from worries or troubles
2. suffering from mental confusion

That just about sums up how I look and feel most days. How about you?

I truly believe slapping paint is good for the mind, heart, and soul.  It has nothing to do with being artistic, having artistic training or talent.  It has everything to do with letting go of whatever story or situation has got us down, confused, overwhelmed.  Heck! It's even useful to paint when you have a puzzle you're trying to solve.  Paint, whenever, wherever,  for as long as it takes to regain your peace of mind.

Soooo, I've poured these plaster owls, sealed them with gesso, and made them ready for you to slap happily with acrylic paint anytime you feel like you're about to lose your shit.

Order as many owls as you think you'll want to paint. OH OH OH, you could order extra to share for an impromptu paint party with your dearest friends and family.

Each order includes three plaster owls, primed with white gesso, with a wall hanger embedded for secure hanging.

(Images show owls I started happily slapping with cadmium-free yellow, just before I got the idea to share this experience with you here.)

While you wait for your order to arrive, get out your acrylic paints.  If you don't own any, run up to your nearest craft shop and pick up small bottles of red, white, blue, yellow, for sure.  If the paints are on sale, and the old budget allows, look for a Prism Violet, Bright Aqua Green, or some Gold.  Don't forget paint brushes made for acrylic paints, whichever ones are on sale will do just fine.  You want brushes you're not afraid to wreck.

Side note: I did a little research across various art therapy sites to find out if it was just me feeling better after painting, or did others feel that way too.  Well, the word around town is that a painting session, using expressive techniques like paint splattering or using angry colors, is a healthy, cathartic, and therapeutic way to release negative energy, reduce physical tension, and process emotions constructively, often resulting in stress relief and a unique piece of art. It provides a safe outlet for intense feelings, turning destructive impulses into creative expression, which can be more beneficial than bottling up emotions.

Sounds good enough for me!
